UK importers and exporters are benefiting from improved services throughout Italy, thanks to a new partnership approach from Transmec Group.
The international group, which has four UK depots, already has a strong presence across northern Italy, with branches in seven cities, including Milan, Turin, Florence and Modena.
And closer links with key local carriers are now enhancing road services throughout central and southern areas, including Italy’s islands.
Benefits include increased frequency and improved customer service, with a dedicated team in place to ensure clients receive all the support they require.
Less Than Truckload (LTL), Groupage and Full Truck Load (FTL) services are all covered by the new approach
Transmec runs daily Groupage services to Italy – Monday to Friday – from its UK branches at West Thurrock, Redditch and Bradford. The Group’s global headquarters are at Campogalliano, near Modena
Providing regular freight links across Europe, the UK departures schedule also includes services to Greece (daily), Spain (twice-weekly), Portugal and Turkey (weekly)
In addition to its depots in Italy, Transmec’s hubs in southern Europe include Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, Oporto, Athens, Thessaloniki and Istanbul
“Our international network means we retain a very high-degree control over freight movements which provides extra reassurance to customers,” said Phil Thomas, Transmec UK’s sales manager.
“We also operate our own fleet, which optimises efficiency, and many trucks are doubled-manned for express delivery. If required, we can also provide storage.”
