Digital freight comparison tool expands its reach for further speed and efficiency

Award-nominated freight comparison tool, Freightabase, has launched the ‘Quick Quote’ functionality of its website as a standalone app.

Freightabase’s online database of freight forwarding and logistics companies is coded up by the specialisms each company can offer. These specialisms can be filtered by location, trade lanes or even vertical market proficiency, to ensure its users are matched with the perfect expert for any job. The ‘Quick Quote’ section of the website allows cargo owners and freight forwarders to obtain quotations with optimum speed, efficiency and accuracy.

The team behind the site wanted to give Freightabase’s users even greater accessibility to obtain quotations from specialist carriers so have launched the quick quote function as an app, compatible with both iOS and Android.

Freightabase Managing Director, Craig Headford, said “We are in the process of building the ultimate freight buying platform that will revolutionise the industry. Imagine taking the best parts of social media, comparison sites, news, and marketing, combined: this is what we are creating.”

Freightabase already has some of the industry’s leading names supporting its online platform.

Benefits to Freightabase’s users include:

  • Speed – Fill out one quote form whilst on the move, and the app will do the rest
  • Efficiency – Competitive quotes will be returned to the user via email within the hour
  • Accuracy – The carriers returning the quotes will be specialists in the trade lane and/or commodity being shipped

The app and website are also completely free to users.

Freightabase has gone from strength to strength since its launch in September, with the start up’s rapid success seeing it shortlisted as a finalist for the FTA’s annual Logistics Awards. The company will be represented at the awards evening on December 13th, where it is nominated for “Most Innovative Product of the Year 2018”.

The company will continue to invest in digital marketing and technology to ensure both its users and supporters receive optimum ROI. This includes further digital projects for early 2019, including individual apps for the site’s advertisers, and a news app to give Freightabase clients the ability to send press releases and details of new service offerings directly to the industry in a matter of seconds.
