Lutterworth-based warehouse and logistics expert, Core Management Logistics (CML), has had a successful 2018 full of firsts for the group, leading the charge for UK logistics during what their Managing Director describes as a ‘tremendous’ year.

CML was recognised by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) earlier this year, who invited them to participate in the ‘Stronger Together’ campaign, in partnership with ITN. The news and current-affairs style programme was designed to bring life to the importance of collaboration between individuals and businesses within the Logistics and Transport sector, and was launched at this year’s annual CILT conference in June. For their section of the programme, CML delivered a report which showcased how value-added business is changing the logistics industry for the better.

CML’s mission for 2018 was to continually invest and expand its service offering, in order to continue the company’s annual upward trend. This year, CML became the first and only UK provider of Green Garment on Hangers systems (GOH) – a recyclable, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective shipping solution which increases supply chain efficiency. This was complemented by CML’s first ever White Paper: “Beyond ‘in-stock’”,which explored how retailers use fulfilment and logistics in order to improve the customer experience. Both of these offerings have assisted in strengthening CML’s thought leadership position and secured its reputation as an industry leader.

2018 also saw CML expand its revolutionary rail service as it celebrated its one-year anniversary of its first ever rail freight delivery from China, hold its first industry webinar on ecommerce returns and reverse logistics, and host a Brexit Forum. Their success has been additionally recognised in its shortlisting for five industry awards, and a Silver accreditation from Investor in Customers.

In a statement, Managing Director, Mark Webb, said: “CML has had a tremendous year, achieving so much more than we originally intended and this is testament to the incredible team we have at CML… I am personally looking forward to 2019 in what will be an exciting year in the company’s history.”

These company firsts mean the end-to-end logistics leader has cemented its place as one of the key providers of international freight services, warehousing, value added services (VAS), along with ecommerce solutions, Green GOH and Customs Brokerage. With some new and exciting projects in the pipeline for 2019, CML is looking forward to yet another successful year.
