Amazon now support garage parcel deliveries

Amazon have announced its latest delivery option: garage parcel deliveries.

The latest release of the garage parcel deliveries is “Key for Garage”, which is now available for all Amazon Prime customers to install in their own homes, enabling them to use the latest delivery option for ease and security.

This “keyless delivery” invention is an option customers can select when purchasing their goods, meaning that their parcel can be delivered to their garage, preventing loss, damage and theft during times of the day the homeowner may not be present. Furthermore, an Amazon Cloud Cam can also be installed, which allows users record when the door is opened, which can prevent or catch thieves.

According to research, 31% of survey respondents reported having a package stolen in their lifetime, however allowing deliveries to access customers’ homes does not seem to be the answer.

“Amazon Key gives customers peace of mind knowing their orders have been safely delivered to their homes and are waiting for them when they walk through their doors,” Peter Larsen, vice president of delivery technology at Amazon.

“Key for Garage” which has now been released, was brought Amazon over a year after the original “Amazon Key” (presently known as the “Key by Amazon”) was first announced.
